Masks & Musings
4 evenings or 2 days (10 hours)
Together we will explore the ways in which
we use masks in a variety of situations in our lives. Through a
variety of creative means we will examine and express our authenticity
through masks, and most importantly we will create a time of fun,
play, and creative discovery. The course will culminate with the
creation of a clay or plaster mask wall sculpture that represents your
true authentic self as you see it; an art object that inspires you
daily to let the real YOU shine in all you do. Cost includes all
materials and firing - $109. Click

Mandala Bracelet
1 day class or 2 half days (6 hours)
Your
life story in a piece of jewellery...The mandala is a circle, a
universally recognized symbol for life. Throughout history, sacred
traditions around the world have used the circle to represent both
life itself, and the Life-Force behind the life we experience with the
five senses. Carl Jung said that a mandala symbolizes "a safe
refuge of inner reconcil iation
and wholeness." In this class we will explore various events in
our lives, and aspects of ourselves that we will then reflect in our
choices of beads and
design...resulting in a very
meaningful, personal, and wearable piece of art. Cost: $60.
+ materials (min. $40, max. $70 supplies cost depending on choices
made for design).

'Human beings have always employed an enormous amount of clever
devices for running away from themselves...we can keep ourselves busy,
fill our lives with so many diversions, stuff our heads with so much
knowledge, involve ourselves with so many people and cover so much
ground that we never have time to probe the fearful and wonderful
world within.... By middle life, most of us are accomplished fugitives
from ourselves.''
